The Department of Religious Studies at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the field of Ancient Mediterranean Religions (AMR) to begin in the Fall of academic year 2025-26. We seek scholars working in Christian origins (including New Testament Studies, Second Temple Judaism, Early Christianity, and Late Antiquity) whose research engages non-traditional archives from disciplinary, methodological, theoretical, and thematic approaches including, but not limited to, art history and visual culture, decoloniality and subalternity, migration and diaspora studies, religion and affect, and religion and the senses. Duties will include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and service to the department, college, and university. The position is part of an active and internationally recognized program in Ancient Mediterranean Religions. We are interested in candidates whose interdisciplinary approaches will contribute to the mission and intellectual life of the Department of Religious Studies through their teaching, research, and service. 

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Religious Studies or a related field with a specialization in the area of Ancient Mediterranean Religions.
