About the Speaker

Alexandra Vukovich, University of Oxford

Alexandra Vukovich is a British Academy Research Fellow at the University of Oxford at St Edmund Hall. Following her studies in Paris and at Cambridge, Dr Vukovich has held fellowships at Newnham College (University of Cambridge), Dumbarton Oaks, and she was an Onassis Fellow at the British School at Athens. Most of her research deals with the political culture of early Rus, though she has also published on travel, trade, and material culture. In particular, her interests lie in the textual history of the chronicles of Rus, their composition, and the shaping and re-shaping of historical narratives according to the shifting political circumstances of Rus and Muscovy.
