Iviron through the Ages, Ilia State University and Zoom, December 2, 2023
On December 2, the Medieval Studies Center of Ilia State University will host the international hybrid workshop "Iviron through the Ages" dedicated to 1040 years of the foundation of the Georgian Monastery of Iviron. The workshop aims to bring together specialists from various fields who deal with monastic studies, and in particular, Iviron, one of the most important Athonite Monasteries founded by Georgian monks in the 980s. The workshop is expected to lay the foundation for the further collaboration of scholars from different academic traditions discussing the religious, historical, political and cultural dimensions of Iviron over the centuries from the various perspectives and methodological approaches.
