The Department of History at Idaho State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Pre-Modern World History to 1500 at the rank of Assistant Professor. The area of specialization is open. The ability to teach courses in world history is desirable, especially at the general education level.

We seek candidates who demonstrate a growing record of scholarship, commitment to effective teaching, and potential for successful grant funding. This assistant professor will contribute to the existing undergraduate and graduate curricula and develop courses in their areas of specialization.

Teaching duties are a 3/3 load including in-class, broadcast (synchronous online), and online (asynchronous) formats. The successful candidate will also fill service roles in the department, college, and university. 

A Ph.D. in history or related field is required at appointment in August 2024. Review of applications begins February 12, 2024.
