In the summer of 2007, the American Schools of Oriental Research renewed its emphasis on providing funding grants and fellowships that allow individuals to participate in excavations in the Eastern Mediterranean. ASOR plans to award 43 fieldwork participation scholarships of $2,000 each for 2024.

Fellowships include BIPOC Scholarships, Stevan B. Dana Scholarships, P. E. MacAllister Scholarships, Eric and Carol Meyers Scholarships, Shirlee Meyers/G. Ernest Wright Scholarships, Member-Supported Scholarships, Platt Scholarships, Sheeler Scholarships, Steinmetz Fellowships for Active/Reserve Military or Veterans, and Strange/Midkiff Families Fellowships.

In most cases, applicants must be members of ASOR or be enrolled as students at an ASOR-member school.
