Do not hide your face, Second Boston Byzantine Music Festival
Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Byzantine Choir performing “Do not hide your face” at the second Boston Byzantine Music Festival, November 14–15, 2014. Psalm 68:18–19 is chanted during Vespers of Clean Monday, marking the beginning of the penitential period of Great Lent. The classical setting in the plagal fourth mode by Petros the Peloponnesian (1735–1778) is performed in an arrangement by Thrasyvoulxs Stanitsas (1910–1987).
