In this class, we will explore the importance of the chanter in Greek Orthodox liturgical life and the historical origins and evolution of the chanter’s ministry.

November 16, 2017, 7:00–9:00 PM
Liturgical Books and Their Use
The focus of this class will be compiling a service with the help of online and published sources.

November 17, 2017, 7:00–9:00 PM
Reading Aloud and Intonation of an Epistle and Gospel Reading
The master class will conclude with an evening dedicated to the reading of scripture. How do we read scriptures and how do we conclude reading of an excerpt? What is the difference between a chanter and a reader? What do the terms "χύμα" and "εμμελώς" mean?
