Apostolos Combitsis, Protopsaltis of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Toms River, NJ, offers an overview of the proper rubrics to be followed in hierarchical liturgies and services.

Apostolos Combitsis discusses the proper rubrics to be followed when a hierarch presides over the services of Vespers or Orthros (Matins). Instructions will be offered regarding a hierarch's presence during the Divine Liturgy, specifically whether he is presiding over or whether he is celebrating the Liturgy. All information presented will be according to the Patriarchal tradition and based primarily from the viewpoint of the analogion (cantor's stand) or the choir.
