Jazz pianist and composer Lefteris Kordis introduces workshop participates to three-dimensional sonic/spatial sound colors.

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to three-dimensional sonic/spatial sound colors, an alternate way to recognize pitch formations, such as single notes, intervals, tetra-chords, scales, and triads. Utilizing the color wheel, the circle of fifths, and a combination of numbers, absolute pitch, and movable do solfège, participants will be guided to develop an instinctual connection to sound colors by following strategies and exercises inspired from folk, jazz, and modernist/avant-garde music.

The workshop assumes prior knowledge of music theory and ear training.

This workshop is part of the Fifth Boston Byzantine Music Festival.
