This workshop, focused on percussion instruments, will take its audience on a journey through the sounds and rhythms of the the Middle East and the Balkans. George Lernis will perform pieces on the davul, riq, douberleki (darbuka), and daire and introduce participants to the instruments’ origin, styles, and techniques.
