A study day for students focusing on the exhibition ARMENIA! on view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

East of Byzantium participants will join exhibition curator Helen C. Evans and graduate students from her course “Armenia: Defining a National Identity” for a tour and discussion of the exhibition.

Attendance is strictly limited to 10 matriculating students. Registration is required. East of Byzantium will reimburse students for travel expenses. 

This workshop is part of the Studying East of Byzantium IV workshop series. EAST OF BYZANTIUM is a partnership between the Arthur H. Dadian and Ara Oztemel Chair of Armenian Art at Tufts University and the Mary Jaharis Center that explores the cultures of the eastern frontier of the Byzantine empire in the late antique and medieval periods.
