38th Annual Byzantine Studies Conference

The Mary Jaharis Center for Byzantine Art and Culture at Hellenic College Holy Cross and The Byzantine Studies Association of North America (BSANA) welcome participants of the 38th Annual Byzantine Studies Conference.

The 38th annual Byzantine Studies Conference will take place in the Maliotis Cultural Center at Hellenic College Holy Cross in Brookline, MA from November 1st through November 4th, 2012.

The Byzantine Studies Conference was founded in 1975. It is a venue for the presentation and discussion of papers embodying current research on all aspects of Byzantine history and culture. The BSC meets in October or November in a different city every year. Approximately 75 papers are presented and discussed in a relaxed but professional atmosphere.  Graduate students are strongly encouraged to attend and may compete for prizes for the best papers. The BSC is also the occasion for the annual BSANA business meeting. BSANA is incorporated in the state of Florida.

Greek, Roman and Byzantine Objects from the Archbishop Iakovos Collection, a small exhibition of Greek, Roman and Byzantine objects from the Archbishop Iakovos Collection, curated by the Very Reverend Dr. Joachim Cotsonis and Dr. Maria Kouroumali, will be on view during the conference.
