Supporting the Changing Research Practices of Art Historians

Supporting the Changing Research Practices of Art Historians is a study funded by the Getty Foundation and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation and conducted by Ithaka S+R. It looks at how art historians' research practices are evolving in the digital age.

The project focused on five areas: emergence of digital art history, interconnected scholarly communities that support art history, changes in research practices, personal data collection and storage, and graduate student training. The study findings and recommendations are based on more than 70 interviews with faculty, curators, librarians, visual resources professions, and museum professionals.
