Byzantine Istanbul - Bridging Civilizations, Istanbul, July 5–26, 2025

In July 2025, Yuliya Minets at the University of Alabama is leading a three-week study abroad program in Istanbul, focusing on its Byzantine legacy. The program is run by the University of Alabama and is associated with two 3-credit 300-level college courses (History and Classics, 6 credits altogether, transferable).

The class will visit the most important archaeological and historical sites, still-standing architectural structures, Byzantine churches-turned-mosques, and museums in Istanbul and its surroundings.
