6th-century Byzantine Monastery Excavated in Northern Negev Desert

The Israel Antiquities Authority has announced the discovery of a sixth-century monastery excavated near the entrance of the Bedouin village of Hura. Several mosaic floors have been uncovered.

The monastery and floors will be transferred to Wadi Atir, a Bedouin-built farm and tourist site in the Negev.
